We’re looking forward

First day of Autumn today and looking out my window as I write this, it still looks and feels like summer. Irrespective of what it looks like though, it seems like the year is whizzing by, with just over a couple of months to the start of the boat show season.

I’m certainly looking forward to that; not only because I love getting around the shows, checking out what’s new, catching up with friends and acquaintances from the industry, but this year is special. This year we’re producing the first print edition of Shipmate Marine Directory specifically for South East Queensland (SEQ).

Out in time for the start of the boat show season in May, 10,000 copies will be available free to boaters via yacht clubs, marinas, shipyards, marine organisations and selected marine businesses.

We’ve downloaded all of the SEQ listings from our website, over 450 of them, and we’re busily putting together the SEQ boaters essential guide to marine products, trades and services. A 132 page, full colour pocket wonder that reads like a who’s-who of the marine world in SEQ and serves as a conduit between boaters and the marine industry. Exciting stuff!

But of course all work and no play makes for a dull life and on the weekend we were out again playing on our boat. This weekend we took Blue Tango down to check out Victoria’s newest marina at Wyndham Harbor.

Situated on the northern shores of Port Phillip, between Melbourne and Geelong, Wyndham Harbour, when fully completed, will provide up to 1000 wet berths, dry storage for up to 390 boats, state-of-the-art facilities, refuelling dock and marina service centre.

Wyndham Harbour’s official opening celebrations continue next weekend so head on down by car or boat and check it out.

But that's not all the news, quite a bit more in this edition from right around the country so, as we usually say, sit back, browse through and enjoy the read.

Cheers, See you out on the water
