Shipmate News 15 June 2015

Enjoy the read

Thanks to the wonders of technology this edition of Shipmate News is coming to you direct from sunny Airlie Beach where I’m enjoying a few days in the sun before getting back to winter in Melbourne.

But while it may be winter down south, the Melbourne Boat Show is on right now and enjoying a very warm reception with visitor numbers up substantially from last year. My roving reporters tell me it’s a great show with plenty to see, so if you haven’t been yet then get down there while you still have time, the show finishes at 6pm tonight.

In other news, well, this edition just about covers the full spectrum from marine businesses for sale, through to a Queens Birthday gong for industry icon, Bill Barry-Cotter, new boat launches from Whittley, Aussie Boat Sales, Clipper, Arvor and Jeanneau and that’s just the start.

In this edition you’ll also find details about Queenscliff Harbour who have launched their annual photo competition, dates for the Docklands Winter Festival Fireworks and information from the Australian National Maritime Museum who’ve launched the 2016 Classic and Wooden Boat Festival.

But all that is still just scratching the surface because as usual, Shipmate News has something for everyone from right around the country. So, sit back, browse through and enjoy the read.  Till next time.

Cheers, see you out on the water
