Shipmate News 01 December 2014

On the road again

Not sure if you’ve noticed but, the older you get, the faster time seems to fly by and already it’s December and this is the second last edition of Shipmate News for the year.

I can’t wait for the holidays, really looking forward to taking some time off to do… You guessed it, exactly what we’ve been doing all year round… Spending time on a boat out on the water, except this time, no pressing deadlines for a month or so.

But before that, I’m about to hit the road to do one of the things I look forward to each year; visiting yacht clubs, marinas, marine organisations and marine businesses around Victoria, delivering the latest, 2015 (print) edition of Shipmate Marine Directory.

It’s a lot of running around but, It’s something I really enjoy as it gives me an opportunity to catch up with a lot of industry people I only see occasionally and hear first hand about what’s going on around the traps; the good, the bad and the ugly.

So if you’re in Victoria, make sure you get your free copy of Shipmate and if you have any problems getting hold of a copy, feel free to contact me at info@shipmate.com.au and I’ll let you know where to pick one up.

Now just a quick update on our website. If you haven’t visited www.shipmate.com.au recently, then please do so, you’ll find plenty of things of interest to boaters. We’ve also had a few people ask about the slider pictures featured at the top of our site and how we decide what pics to use. Well, many of them have been sent to us so, if you’ve got an interesting pic that you think you’d like to see on the site, forward us a copy and we’ll see if it works.

Similarly with video, if you’ve got something interesting related to boating, let us know and we’ll see if we can’t give it a run on the site.

And finally to this edition and as always, a good mix of marine news from around the country with something for everyone so, sit back and enjoy the read.

Cheers, see you out on the water
