Shipmate News 15 November 2013

It’s been big but it aint over yet

As we head quickly towards the end of 2013 we, here at Shipmate, can look back on what has truly been a big year. Over the last 12 months we’ve completely revamped our website which is now fully compatible with smartphones and tablets, added hundreds of new listings for marine trades and services, a number of new categories and even incorporated the complete membership of the Boating Industry Association of Victoria.

We’ve also added video to the site and featured videos are updated regularly. Check out the latest collection here: www.shipmate.com.au If you have an interesting boating video send us the link and we’ll consider putting it up. But that’s not all; we’ve also added the facility for marine businesses to submit their own listings. If you provide a service or products to boaters, anywhere in Australia, visit the website and submit your listing. All categories can now be filtered by state.

Our free App for smartphones and tablets continues to gain popularity and that's also been updated to bring it into line with our new clean look, if you haven’t downloaded the App as yet make sure you visit the iPhone App Store or Google Play and do so ASAP.

While we’ve been giving our on-line side plenty of attention we certainly haven’t neglected our print edition. The 2014 (tenth) print edition of Shipmate Marine Directory is out now and currently being distributed via yacht clubs marinas, marine organisations and selected marine businesses. We’ve increased the size to 152 gloss pages with more content, more categories but still a convenient pocket size and, best of all, still free!

A copy of the new Shipmate Marine Directory will also go out (in Victoria) with the March 2014 edition of the new Tradeaboat magazine – The complete book of boats (see article below).

Well there’s plenty of marine news in this edition from around Australia, certainly something for everyone so sit back and enjoy the read.

Cheers, see you out on the water
