All the news

The countdown to Sydney International Boat Show is on. With less than two weeks to go things are shaping up with plenty of new releases set to launch at the show. I’m told the halls are booked out and the marina is full which bodes well for the show and the industry.

In this edition we’ve got lots of articles about new releases and launches planned for the show so, see you there!

Also in this edition we’ve got details about the release of a 68-page, collector’s edition, Riviera Buyers Guide supplement, attached to Issue 416 of Tradeaboat magazine, which is out on news stands now. The official stand-alone Riviera Buyer’s Guide is a must-have for all Riviera owners and enthusiasts and it’s free with every issue of Tradeaboat, see more details below.

We’ve got an update on the new marina under construction at Wyndham Harbour with news that the 100th marina berth has just been sold and we also have details about a survey being conducted by Twofold Bay Yacht Club at Eden. The yacht club, other local organisations and the Bega Valley Shire have had a long running campaign for the construction of a safe, all weather marina in the port, which is badly needed. If you travel along that part of the coast make sure you fill in the survey.

The Variety Splash is on again and dates have been released for the 2012 event. A slightly different format this year but what hasn’t changed is that this is one of the best events for boaters around. The three day and three night cruise in company around Port Phillip is a lot of fun and a must-do. It’s open to both power and sail and you can read more details in this edition.

We’ve commenced work on the 2012 booklet edition of Shipmate Marine Directory so if you are already listed please check your entry at www.shipmate.com.au and make sure all your details are correct. If you are interested in advertising opportunities then contact us at info@shipmate.com.au or give me a call on 0418 587 799, but act soon as advertising sells out fast. That’s about it from me.

Cheers, see you out on the water
