Shipmate News 15 May 2011

Welcome to the May edition of Shipmate News.

With only days to go before the start of the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show we can tell you that that the show is very much alive and well and has attracted over 380 exhibitors. The two large pavilions and the hardstand area are fully booked and there are new park’n’ride transport options, more on that below.

And while we’re on the subject of Sanctuary Cove, the Oceantalk Twin Antenna Superdigi HD Mobile TV receiver has made quite an impact since its release late last year and if you purchase a Superdigi receiver at the 2011 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, Oceantalk are offering purchasers a return trip to Thailand, again more details below.

In other news, we have details of Clipper’s new 65’ Flagship a three cabin luxury cruiser just perfect for those long distance voyages and details of the novel way that Riviera has chosen to launch their new 61 Series II, by towing 12 professional water skiers along the length of the Gold coast Broadwater.

Coming back to boat shows for just a moment and we’ve also included information on a number of new models set to be launched at the Melbourne Boat show to be held on the Queens Birthday weekend in June and we have details on the upcoming Queensland edition of the 2011 Australian Offshore Challenge. The Gold Coast to Whitsundays Rally will take power boaters on a 700 nautical mile odyssey through some of the best cruising waters in Australia.

Well that’s just a brief sample of what’s in this edition of Shipmate News but as we remind you in each edition, make sure you log on to our website at www.shipmate.com.au to keep up to date with what’s happening in the boating world and to get all the information you need to keep your pride and joy in tip top condition.

Now finally, I would like to pass on something I heard recently.  The definition of a house is: A poorly designed boat that’s aground.

Cheers, see you out on the water.
