Shipmate News 01 May 2011

Welcome to Shipmate News for May 2011. Out a couple of days earlier than usual this time as I'll be away next week, having a spot of R&R.

Quite a good mix of news as always and something for everyone. First off a message from Transport Safety Victoria and the Minister for Ports Dr Denis Napthine warning those going out chasing Tuna to be boat safe this season and news from Navico about the release of their new Broadband 3G Radar.

Maritimo is in the news this month with SBM in Sydney launching a premium marine service facility and news of the world’s first Maritimo dealership undergoing a name change and a facelift

We have details about Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show being set to dazzle with both marine and entertainment stars as part of the May program and news that the Superyacht, Janice of Wyoming, has been confirmed as the first Superyacht entrant for Audi Hamilton Island Race Week 201.

With less than four weeks to go, registrations for the much anticipated Australian Super Yacht and Marine Export Conference, ASMEX 2011, are filling fast, but, we're told there is still time to register for this leading Australian marine industry event and you'll find details about that below and, the National Trust‘s Heritage Festival 'Steam to Surf' 07 April to 07 May 2011 is still on, so members of the public have an opportunity to visit the heritage schooner Alma Doepel Restoration Project, currently underway in Melbourne’s Docklands.

If you haven't been to our website lately make sure you visit us soon, we've recently updated some of the links, including the BOM weather pages and the information is much more user friendly and informative, make sure you check us out soon at www.shipmate.com.au
