Riviera Motor Yachts has chosen Twin Disc systems, Seatorque and Seakeeper products for the superb Riviera 68 Motor Yacht, a giant leap forward into long-range cruising, which made its world debut at the 50th Sydney International Boat Show, 3 to 7 August.
Fitted as standard on this ground-breaking new model are the Twin Disc Quickshift MGX6620 Remote V Drive Transmissions, EC300 Controls with Stainless Steel Dual Levers, Express Joystick System with Hydraulic Proportional Bow Thruster, and for smooth and efficient propulsion in all conditions, the Seatorque M4-350 Boss Enclosed Shaft System.
The options on this particular model, a whole new design from the Frank Mulder-designed hull up, which is sold to a Queensland owner, are the additional Stainless Steel Dual Lever Stations, additional Express Joystick Stations, Express Positioning System and the Seakeeper Stabiliser.
According to Trevor Tucker, Twin Disc Sales Manager, Riviera selects Twin Disc products because “they are dedicated to offering their customers what we believe is the ultimate package to be able to achieve smooth, precise control over their vessel, reliability and unrivalled service”.
“Plus, they want the stability that comes from installing a Seakeeper 16 stabiliser so that eliminates most boat roll. The Seakeeper 16 is ideal for long-range, offshore cruising, for stabilisation at anchor while the generator is running. It keeps the boat nice and calm while the owners and their guests are socialising and entertaining.”
The Seatorque system allows for soft mounting of the engines and separate transmissions, removing vibration and noise and adding to a greatly refined cruising experience – the entire package adding up to “30 knots of whisper quiet, silky smooth performance”.
From all reports, the thrilled new owners of the first Riviera 68 Motor Yacht are extremely satisfied.
